...four birds to play with, three squeaky toys, two squirrels to chase and breakfast for me in my bookcase. On the twelfth day of Christmas Pips she brought to me… what did she bring? On the twelfth day of Christmas Pips she brought to me….
'George here I am! I'm sorry I've been so long. It was absolutely horrible in there. I've had enough shopping. Let's go home'.
That's what you said three hours ago. 'This is the last shop George I promise' is what you said. I don't believe you anymore.
'Gosh it's freezing out here. Let’s untie you and grab a taxi’.
Taxi? Did you say taxi Pips?
'I’ve spent so much money today what’s another £15.00?’
I’m going in a taxi I’m going in a taxi George is going in a taxi!

‘You finished all your shopping then love?’
‘More or less but I couldn’t stand it anymore. The shops are heaving. Ow George where are you going?’
I just want to sit up on your knees Pips. Can you open the window so I can stick my head out?
‘Doing anything special for Christmas?’
‘No it’s just going to be a quiet one. Just me and my dog and..’
Open the window Pips.
‘I’ve got a friend coming over in the evening’.
I want to feel the air rushing in my nose and ears.
‘You’re misting up the glass George. Do you want the window open? OK’.
That’s better….look at all the lights....aren’t they pretty? And the people rushing by ….that was us...…
‘Is everything under control out there on the Euston Road George?’
It smells like Christmas Pips!

'You must be cold back there aren’t you love with the window open?'
'Yes I’m a block of ice’.
I love travelling in a taxi Pips. It's terrific! On the twelfth day of Christmas Pips she brought to me twelve taxis to ride in! That's it! On the twelfth day of Christmas Pips she brought to me twelve taxis to ride in, eleven rabbit dinners, ten 'Good Boy' chocolate drops/
'OK we're just here after the first lamppost on the left. That's it'.
nine cats to teach a lesson,
'That's £14.00 love'.
eight beds to lie in,
'OK George we're home, let me just grab my bags….’
seven bones to chew on,
'There you are’.
six bouncy tennis balls,
'Thanks love. Happy Christmas'.
five Bichon Frisés,
'Bye. Happy Christmas!'
four birds to play with,
'I'm frozen George. Quick!'
three squeaky toys
'let's get inside'
two squirrels to chase
'switch on the fan heater and have a cup of tea'.
and a breakfast for me in my bookcase! I did it. Well done George!
‘Are you coming inside George or what?’
Yes I’m coming but I was just finishing off something I started earlier, if you don’t mind, whilst you were shopping. By the way I know I’ve mentioned this before Pips but perhaps we could take a taxi into work on those days when you think you might want to catch the bus. I very much enjoy travelling by taxi, I really do.
